The Maritime Academy, now under the Moses Kotane Institute runs work readiness programmes that are aimed at assisting unemployed graduates with the skills for better job seeking.
“It is a skill to find a job,” says Ms Phumelele Mashaba, a facilitator of these workshops. She says that most people miss the opportunity of getting a job, because of their applications, which include their Curriculum Vitae, Cover Letters and so forth.
The workshop that was held between 11-12 June 2019, focused on personality and effective ways of job search. In a lighter note, on day one, self-awareness was thoroughly discussed and on day two, Ms Mashaba focused on a format of a CV and it importance and how every post or vacancy have its own specifics.
