The Moses Kotane Institute, through its Acting CEO, Thandeka Ellenson, participated in the Africa Television Market on 4IR this morning. This was part of the week long Durban International Film Festival activities. She spoke to the film creatives about the importance of content ownership and understanding of legal requirements to Intellectual Property. She further added that research has highlighted some hurdles in Film and Television industry for upcoming content producers. These include lack of skills to meet 4IR demands, access to finance, lack of infrastructure, lack of connectivity and platforms. Moses Kotane Institute is opening up 7 innovation hubs in the province to provide a platform for Innovators and creatives to use the facilities to breach or resolve some of these challenges. KZN has plans to rollout broadband in the province.
